Objective

You may have questions about an interesting design or process that mathematics can help you by giving you quantitative or qualitative answers, but you are unsure how to formulate the problem mathematically or do not have the resources for analysis and inferring optimal design decisions. Study Groups provide you an access to experienced researchers who, for the duration of the meeting and possibly afterwards, will bring their skills to bear on your problem.
The problems presented at Study Groups vary in nature, and include those where:
    1. the underlying processes are well understood, but the specific application requires substantial and novel computation,
    2. the general processes are understood, but analysis is required to determine dominant forces, parameter sensitivity, optimal design, and other key dependencies,
    3. the underlying mechanisms are not understood, and you wish to model the basics.

Study Group is a resource that offers:
    1. clarification and formulation of a proposed or existing process,
    2. methods to solve problems of interest in industry,
    3. links with applied mathematicians and scientists from top universities and national laboratories,
    4. access to advanced computing solutions and environments,
    5. highly cost-effective consulting,
    6. fresh input of new ideas.
