Introduction :
R is a statistical environment and system created for data analysis. R is able to perform various statistical analyses such as linear & non-linear modelling, descriptive statistics, classifications, time series analysis and etc. R has become the de-facto standard for data science and plays a primary role in research & industry.
Although there are many statistical packages available (eg: SPSS, Stata, Minitab, SAS), R is becoming more popular due its flexibility and power for advanced statistical analysis. Most importanly, R is an open source software and has numerous packages available aside from the base.
This workshop is intended to expose participants coming from a broad spectrum of disciplines to the advantages of using R to perform various applied statistical analysis.
