Mathematics in Industry Study Groups have proved to have been a key tool for delivering the underpinning discipline of mathematics to difficult problems for more than forty years, and many mathematicians from all over the world take part in these events regularly. See http://www.maths-in-industry.org The meeting provides opportunities for bridging the gap between academics and scientists from industry, and encourages technology transfer from one another. Study Groups have a track record of success in 20 countries in all 5 continents.
